Without much ado, check engine warning light that comes up on the dashboard cluster of any vehicle, when it comes, it indicates that some things are wrong, mainly with the engine of the vehicle. Whatever is wrong might be minor such as the oxygen sensor failing, or it could be major. Whether minor or major, it is always advisable that the cause should be attended to before it becomes something bigger.
Lest I forget, the actual cause of what triggered the check engine warning light can be easily detected with the help of a car scanner or diagnostic machine. That said, let us now look into the main reason you should not always leave a check engine warning light unattended, and it is;
Inability to know when your vehicle has other issues related to the engine. That is, since the check engine light is always on your car, you will not be aware because you will see that the fault(s) that triggered the light is/are still the same. They keep compounding and could eventually lead to the death of the engine. You will quickly see an issue whenever the check engine light comes up because it has not been there.
Lest I forget, some vehicles have been configured to trigger check engine warning lights where there is an issue with the vehicle's transmission. If you don't have a warning light or you are not the type of person who leaves the light on, you will be on the safer side. But if otherwise, you won't know, which will cost you a lot of money you didn't budget since the check engine warning light is always on your car. Also, know that if the check engine warning light is blinking and not stable, it is a critical issue that you need to fix as soon as possible.
