Intake (or inlet) manifolds basically integrated pipes for fuel delivery and distribution into the engine cylinders. The device, mostly aluminum, polypropylene and cast iron has multiple apertures to supply a mixture of fuel and air to the cylinders. The engine thus gets the right mixture of air and fuel, which is neither too lean nor too rich.
