Should thermostat be removed from a car or vehicle knowing it does this?

The issue of removing thermostats in cars used in Nigeria or not has been a thing of serious debate. However, most 'kazeem" mechanics have resorted to removing them for one reason or the other.

What is even a thermostat to start with?

A thermostat is an electrical component of a car that sees the coolant or, let's say, water flow from the engine to the radiator through a process. If the thermostat in any vehicle is in good condition and other conditions are also met, the car will work fine and won't overheat.

Knowing that said above, do you advise or recommend a thermostat to be removed from any vehicle?

The thermostat that came with my car was removed after it got faulty. Since then my mechanic said there won't be a need to fix a new one into it, but I noticed since it was removed it brought about the CEL and Traction light on the IC. Even when I used my scanner it was the absence of the thermostat that brought about those two warning lights. So I am planning on getting a new one to fix back into the engine because it is very vital for the smooth running of the engine.

Replace the thermostat.
